Hired in January of 1963, Jim "JC" Clarke was a member of the original Vail Ski Patrol. Ski patrol personnel of that era needed to be game for new experiences and a jack-of-all-trades. In this Vail Valley Voices History Nugget, Clarke discussed repair of the first telephone wires on Vail Mountain. Lodgepole pines that swayed readily in the wind served as poles for the phone lines.

In 1979, Kevin Foley landed his first job in Vail as a bartender at Frazier's Restaurant. Frazier's was located in the Lionshead Gondola Building in the Lionshead Village area of Vail. Foley, who eventually served as a Vail Town Council member for twenty-three years, recalled his unusual skier service while working at Frazier's.

Pete Seibert Jr. described the aftermath of his father's (Pete Seibert Sr.) late 1950s trek up No Name Mountain with Earl Eaton. The duo looked at a large subalpine area apparently cleared by forest fires in the late 19th century. This area later became the Back Bowls of Vail Mountain.
Seibert recalled a humorous interlude at Williams Cafe in Minturn that his father related to him.
