Division of Wildlife officer for the Gore Creek, Piney Lake and Piney River area captured this image of a cow moose outside a home in West Vail. Andree reported that the moose had to be tranquilized. Subsequently, Andree and team discovered the most expedient removal method was its transportation through the West Vail home.

This photograph of a young bull shiras moose (Alces alces shirasi) was captured by Vail Public Library Senior Librarian, Jo Norris. Observed browsing on red osier dogwood (Cornus sericea) leaf and twig, the moose enjoyed the native plant landscaping between Vail Public Library (VPL) and Gore Creek for much of the afternoon.

This image of a shiras moose (Alces alces shirasi) and calf was captured by VPL staff member, Mary McDougall. Observed browsing on wild rose (Rosa woodsii syn. R. blanda), the moose cow was enjoying the greenscape between Vail Public Library and Gore Creek. Early that morning, this same moose was observed browsing on river birch (Betula occidentalis) leaf and twig.
