Rob LeVine is in the starting gate for the Tashiro Cup, sponsored by Tashiro Marketing & Advertising. Tashiro Marketing was owned by popular 1980s Vail business owners, Harvey and Lori Tashiro. The event has been described as the Vail Mountain local's "social event of the year." Unlike most skiers, LeVine is racing on telemark (touring-style) skis rather than alpine (dowhill) skis.

Kim Fuller is depicted hugging the Widge's Ridge sign at Vail's Sun Down Bowl. Fuller's grandmother is Alice "Widge" Ferguson. Vail pioneer and first public relations director, Bob Parker, named the the ski run for Widge Ferguson. Ferguson had an uncanny knack for bringing snow with her. "The Ski Trooper" bronze sculpture concept was inspired by 10th Mountain Division veteran Donald E. Traynor. Based upon the bronze sculpture by Victor Issa, “The Ski Trooper” was created by Colorado artist Scott Stearman.
