This stately bull moose photograph was captured by Colorado Division of Wildlife officer, Bill Andree in fall of 2016. Andree's game warden territory included the Gore Creek Valley, Piney Lake and Piney River area of Eagle County, Colorado. Andree noted that a willow dominant wetlands near Piney Lake is nicknamed "Bullwinkle Alley," due to the prevalence of moose.

"The Ski Trooper" bronze sculpture concept was inspired by 10th Mountain Division veteran Donald E. Traynor.
