Legendary Vail Children's Ski School instructor, Jebbie Browne, enjoyed visiting with friends during the 2022 Vail Pioneer weekend. Organized by Packy Walker, the event celebrated those who contributed to building the community of Vail during the 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s.

Division of Wildlife officer for the Gore Creek, Piney Lake and Piney River area captured this image of a cow moose outside a home in West Vail. Andree reported that the moose had to be tranquilized. Subsequently, Andree and team discovered the most expedient removal method was its transportation through the West Vail home.

John Duran was the Vail Fire Chief, while John Gulick served as Assistant Fire Chief. Also involved were Vail firefighters Mike Vaughan, Dave Eich and Craig Davis.

This remarkable image of four mature bull moose near Piney Lake was captured by Bill Andree during winter of 2018. Andree is a retired Colorado Division of Wildlife officer whose territory included Gore Creek Valley, Piney Lake and the Piney River Valley area.

Artist and longtime local, Dan Allard, is a perfect Santa Claus. (His wonderful beard and mustache are real!) Santa visited Vail Public Library (VPL) during the library's "Family Fireside Holiday Party" on 12 December 2023. The photo was captured by Laurin Megna-Davis, VPL Children's Library Associate.
