In 1979, Kevin Foley landed his first job in Vail as a bartender at Frazier's Restaurant. Frazier's was located in the Lionshead Gondola Building in the Lionshead Village area of Vail. Hired in January of 1963, Jim "JC" Clarke was a member of the original Vail Ski Patrol. Ski patrol personnel of that era needed to be game for new experiences and a jack-of-all-trades. "The Ski Trooper" bronze sculpture concept was inspired by 10th Mountain Division veteran Donald E. Traynor. Based upon the bronze sculpture by Victor Issa, “The Ski Trooper” was created by Colorado artist Scott Stearman.

Rob LeVine is in the starting gate for the Tashiro Cup, sponsored by Tashiro Marketing & Advertising. Tashiro Marketing was owned by popular 1980s Vail business owners, Harvey and Lori Tashiro. The event has been described as the Vail Mountain local's "social event of the year."
